Matt Carr Goes Steampunk at MOPLA
May 9, 2012
New York City-based celebrity and portrait photographer Matt Carr recently shot a series of portraits celebrating Steampunk. The literary genre rose to popularity in the 1980s, incorporating science fiction and fantasy, and spawned a subculture of fashion and art influenced by the futuristic world imagined within a Victorian context. Carr photographed the series for the Month of Photography Los Angeles – MOPLA – show “Pro’jekt LA Part IV: Take me There” which opened on April 24th at Venice Arts Gallery.
