Matthew Roharik Captures a New Campaign for TheraGun

I was recently tasked with photographing the TheraGun G2 Pro Global Campaign. This was an active lifestyle fitness shoot that took place in-studio. The goal was to have the talent demonstrate the products, as well as some tabletop photography to highlight the equipment.

My loft photo studio worked perfectly. We used the space to stage a gym setting with hardwood floors or an outside wall when the floor is cropped out. The client wanted hard shadows outlining the figures to match the hard shadows of the tabletop photography. The key light for both shoots was a bare bulb with various white deep umbrellas with diffusers for fills positioned to preserve the shadows.

For the white seamless images, the lights were placed 12 to 13 feet high to get the shadows on the ground.  We shot the project over two days with art and design directors from TheraGun. The first day we focused on product shots, and the second day we worked with the talent.

My versatile stylist was instrumental on set for the placement of the products and pulled and styled the wardrobe for the 8 models.  I shot tethered using Capture 11, which was exciting for the talent since they were so thrilled to see the images as they were being captured. The final Images are used on the company’s website, social media, print ads and packaging.
