The Hollywood Reporter reached out to ask me to photograph Lenny Kravitz in his new Los Angeles home.

For me, working with Lenny was a dream! I am not star-struck by many people, but for some reason, I was really nervous for this shoot. Yet, despite Lenny’s star-status, he was such a pleasure to work with, and very collaborative. (He too is a photographer, so he has a very keen eye). Plus, for once, I didn’t have to stand on an apple box to shoot someone. The images and experience far exceeded my expectations, and the house was also amazing. Lenny has such a special eye for details—nothing was left undone.

I shot my usual way. No need for a special show. I used minimal equipment and lighting to make the most of the environment and subject I was presented with. I wanted to the photos to truly represent the space and the talent.
